2020 Student Scholarship Opportunity
The Association for Professionals in Aging Scholarship Program is available! The APA will provide two scholarships of $1000 each to an undergraduate or graduate student in fields of study leading to a career in aging. Student scholarship winners will be acknowledged at the virtual APA Holiday/Awards Luncheon on Thursday, December 10, 2020. Below you’ll discover how we choose this outstanding student.
The APA Scholarship is awarded based on student interest and pursuit towards a career in aging. What makes an outstanding candidate for this award? An outstanding candidate would be a student who demonstrates a desire for a career in aging, a strong academic record, service to older adults, community engagement, extracurricular activities and/or innovative career goals.
Students should submit all application materials (application, essay, copy of academic record, two reference letters) as a single PDF emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION. Applications must be submitted by Friday, October 30, 2020, 11:59 p.m.
A subcommittee of the APA will review applications.
Scholarship recipients will be notified by November 25, 2020.
Scholarship recipients are notified via mail and are invited and expected to attend the December 10th APA Holiday/Awards Luncheon where the formal award is given.
